My client wanted a landscape graphic that would be printed and used as dunnage (or padding) for shipments. Their vision was to take a lesser-known park or landscape and stylize it similar to those illustrated National Parks posters, showcasing only the scenery and the name of the park. My inspiration was Wai'anapana State Park in Hana, Hawaii. My goal was to capture the beauty and contrast between the bright blue ocean water and the unique black-sand beach through digital illustration by using a series of brush textures and mesh gradients.
